How do you transfer between terminals?
International to international within Terminal 2
If you have a boarding card for your connection proceed directly to the departure gate.
If you require a boarding card:
For arrival Schengen and departure Schengen you are not required to go through passport control.
For arrival Schengen and departure Non Schengen: Proceed to Passport Control, then go directly to the check-in counter to obtain boarding card.
For arrival Non Schengen and departure Schengen: On arrival proceed through Passport Control then proceed to check-in to obtain boarding card.
Note: Not required to go through Passport Control on departure.
For arrival Non Schengen and departure Non Schengen: On arrival proceed through Passport Control, obtain boarding card from the departure gate and then proceed through Passport Control again.
Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 (international to international):
If you have a boarding pass and your luggage has been through checked follow the signs to the Sky Line train, which runs every two to three minutes. Once in Terminal 2 proceed to your departure gate.
Note: If you are transferring from Spain or Finland you will need to take the Sky Line and clear passport control upon arrival in Terminal 2 before proceeding to the departure gate.
If you require a boarding card:
For arrival from a Schengen country, take the Sky Line train to Terminal 2 and proceed to the check-in counters to obtain a boarding card
For arrival from a Non Schengen country, proceed through Passport Control, then take the Sky Line train to Terminal 2 and proceed to the check-in counters for transfer to a Schengen country or the directly to the departure gate for transfers to a Non Schengen country to obtain a boarding card.
Note: For passengers who arrive from a Non Schengen and are continuing on to a Non Schengen country there is a separate car, which is a transit area within the Sky Line train.
If luggage has not been through checked to final destination:
Collect baggage from the baggage area and proceed via the Sky Line train to the check-in area at Terminal 2 to obtain boarding pass and re-check luggage.
Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 connections to American Airlines and Royal Jordanian:
If you have a boarding card and your luggage has been through checked follow the signs to the Sky Line train and get off at Departure Level C. Proceed to the departure gate.
Note: If you are transferring from Spain or Finland you will need to take the Sky Line train and clear passport control upon arrival in Terminal 1 before proceeding to the departure gate.
If you require a boarding card:
For arrival from a Schengen country follow the signs to the Sky Line train, exiting at Terminal 1 B/C and proceed to the check-in counters to obtain boarding card.
For arrival from a Non Schengen country, proceed to Passport Control, then follow the signs to the Sky Line train, exiting at Terminal 1 B/C and proceed to the check-in counters to obtain boarding card if transferring to a Schengen country. If transferring to a Non Schengen country then remain within the transit area and obtain boarding card from the departure gate.
How long does it take to transfer between terminals?
Transfers between terminals take 15-30 minutes for international connections and up to 40 minutes for domestic connections. Airside transfer using the Sky Line train is the only way to transfer between terminals.
