Paying for Your Ticket Online
Royal Jordanian makes it easier than ever to book a ticket from the convenience of your home or office by offering you the option of paying online at the time of reservation. You may make an online booking where travel starts from a wide range of origins (a list appears in the 'Departure' dropdown menu), but can only pay for these with a major credit or debit cards.
Passengers can choose to pay immediately online, or delay payment up to 72 hours when making their booking online.
Pay Later
You have the option to place your booking on hold for up to 72 hours of booking. If you have not finalized payment within the 72 hours, your booking will be cancelled.
Pay Now
Payment can be made by clicking the Pay Now button on the booking details page at the My Trips page to process the payment process online within the 72 hours from the flight time.
If your credit card has expired since payment was made, you have a new credit card, or you do not have the original credit card used for payment, you will not be able to use the check-in kiosks or check-in desks. In this instance, please go to the ticket desk, where an agent will be able to validate your booking for check- in. If you do not have the credit card used for payment with you at the airport, you will need to show an acceptable form of identification.
Customers may also pay with a Switch/Maestro, Solo, issued by a UK bank and billed to a UK address. Payment must be made in full, at the time of booking. When entering your card number, please do not put any spaces between the sets of numbers, otherwise the system will reject the payment.
The card verification code (CVC) is a three- or four-digit credit card security code. Since this number is not embossed on the card it cannot be printed on receipts. This prevents anyone other than the credit card bearer from using the number. Visa, MasterCard and AMEX Cards have a three digit code located on the top right hand side of the signature strip on the back of the card. Royal Jordanian does not store or retain your Card Security Code. It is only used during the process of validating your credit card.
American Express Cards have a four-digit number printed above the account number on the front of the card.
Flight reservations made on rj.com will be booked as e-tickets wherever your route/passenger details allow. Your automated email receipt will normally be generated a few minutes after your booking has been made, but no later than four hours. Your credit card will have been debited when you made your booking if you have received an e-ticket, it will be debited when your ticket is issued. You shall bring the same payment card with you to the airport, which you used to purchase your ticket online. Credit card shall be presented on any of our check-in channel. When presenting your card at check-in, you will not be debited again. This is simply to establish your identity and enable us to locate your booking.
Via our online channel if your departure point is in a different country from the country where your credit card is issued and billed, you’ll be able to pay and issue ticket online. However credit card holder shall be one of the travelers and credit card used for payment should be presented at check-in counter as form of identification to accept passenger onboard.
If you are traveling on the same flights, you simply include the other person's name on the 'Passenger Details' page. Please ensure that you enter your name as the first passenger. If you are not traveling, you can still make a booking for somebody else online, and an e-ticket will be issued. However, Passenger shall bring the same payment card with her/him to the airport, which you used to purchase the ticket online. Credit card along with an acceptable form of identification should be presented on any of our check-in channel as form of identification to accept passenger onboard.

Once the booking has been completed, you will be directed to a confirmation page. Please save this for future reference. If your web browser does not display a confirmation page and booking reference, it is likely that the booking has been completed successfully, but the confirmation page has failed to reach your browser. If this occurs, please check your email inbox, including any 'trash' folders, to see if your email receipt has arrived which confirms your reservation details. If you have not received an email within two hours (for an e-ticket), customers should email us at ibesupport@rj.com or visit www.rj.com to get local office number (or call our Call center +96265100000 and ask the agent to retrieve your booking.

To enroll in Verified by Visa you will need to contact the bank that has issued your credit card.
If your bank is not yet participating in the Verified by Visa program, they may be planning to do so in the very near future. As this service is not supplied by Royal Jordanian Airlines, we cannot help you enroll for the Verified by Visa scheme, nor with any information relating to this program. For this, you must contact the bank who has issued your card or Visa directly.
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are products that are offered by Visa and MasterCard in conjunction with the bank who has issued your card. In the window on this page, you may have been asked by your bank to enroll in either Verified by Visa or Secure Code. If you are familiar with these products, you may choose to enroll now as part of this booking process. If you are not familiar with these products and their benefits, you may wish to obtain more information before enrolling.
After completing this booking you can access a variety of information on these products, including links to Visa and MasterCard's websites. If however, you would like to speak to someone about either Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode, you must call the bank who has issued your card and not Royal Jordanian, who unfortunately will not be able to help.
As part of your booking process you may have experienced some form of problem with either the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode payment schemes. There are a variety of reasons why you may experience a problem and we have listed the most common reasons and solutions below.
- Payment verification screen appears blank:
Payment verification is made by rj.com transferring data to your bank via a data transfer link, which has an encrypted format.
Some computers are protected by a firewall, which stops the payment verification screen being downloaded and the screen appearing blank
If the screen appears blank, you may need to use another computer, which does not have this firewall protection. - Problems enrolling online:
If you are having problems enrolling online for payment verification process, we suggest that you enroll directly on the banks own web site, which has issued your credit card. Once you have registered you will then be able to make a booking on rj.com.
Alternatively you may wish to try and complete your booking again or choose to use a different card.
If you continue to experience problems, you may wish to contact the Royal Jordanian for Support Email us at ibesupport@rj.com or visit www.rj.com to get local office number (or call our Call center +96265100000 on +962-6-5100000. 24/7 - Credit card denied:
Finally, if you have gone through the payment verification process and then get an error message such as ‘address does not match' or 'credit card denied', these messages are being prompted by your bank and you will need to contact them directly for any further assistance.
Please note: If you have not received a booking reference your payment will not have been authorized and your credit card will not be debited.
Yes, you can pay with a virtual credit card/pre-pay payment card as long as it is supported by one of the card schemes that Royal Jordanian Airlines accepts e.g. Visa, Master card etc.
Please note: The use of a virtual credit card may prevent you from using checking in on rj.com or self service check in. This is because we will need to see a copy of your virtual card certificate, supplied by your bank as part of the use of a virtual card process, before we can accept you for travel.
To ensure that your transactions and personal information are secure, rj.com uses a technology called SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL encrypts all communications between your computer and our server so that the information can only be read and understood by us.
We offer two ticketing options, some of which may not be available in certain countries.
- Electronic ticket (e-ticket) with PAY NOW option
No physical ticket is issued. If booking online, you must pay with a credit/debit card, and then print your e-ticket receipt. - Local office pickup ticket with PAY LATER option
Local office pickup is now allowed only in Jordan. You may collect tickets from Royal Jordanian offices around Jordan. Tickets must be collected within the time limit specified for your booking or the booking will be cancelled.
When you choose to pay by credit cards or debit cards, it is now possible to make payments in the currency of the country your flight was departing from. This new feature provides total transparency, as the final charge will appear on your statement in the currency of your departure city. However, in a limited number of countries (Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Sudan and Kuwait) where their currency is considered as a non foreign currency you’ll see a currency conversion to USD or EUR
A billing address is the address where you are receiving the statements for your credit card or debit card. For your order to be approved when booking online the billing address has to match this address since it is the registered address on the card. Your billing address is the address to which your card statement is sent by your card issuer - it must match the address held by your card issuer exactly.
If it does not, the online booking may decline your purchase, or defer acceptance of your payment and seek further proof of your address or identity to ensure that you are the genuine cardholder.
