Royal Jordanian awarded Four Stars in Global APEX Awards

Sep - Amman

The Official Airline Ratings, the industry’s first rating program, is based solely on the airline’s passengers' verified feedback, using the TripIt mobile app that is used by millions of air travelers worldwide.

First, passengers rated their overall flight experience and then were given the opportunity to provide ratings in five subcategories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi.

According to APEX, Royal Jordanian was one of 470 airlines rated by passengers around the world between October 24, 2016 and July 31 of this year. Airline travelers were validated against confirmed itineraries and geo-location on mobile devices.

Airlines were categorized into GLOBAL airlines, with a large number of wide-body aircraft covering the globe, MAJOR REGIONAL airlines, covering a significant region of the globe, and LOW COST CARRIERS.

This year, APEX awards included only 14 per cent of worldwide airlines that received sufficient votes for the 2018 Four Star status, and another 12 per cent of worldwide airlines that received sufficient votes for 2018 Five Star status.

RJ President/CEO Stefan Pichler said: “We are pleased to be awarded by one of the airline industry’s highly regarded rating programs, carried out by APEX, with a view to enhancing the passenger experience through its influential community. I would like to thank each and every one at our airline for their relentless efforts that led to attaining such a prestigious award.

“Royal Jordanian is now implementing its turnaround plan, one of whose pillars is to be a consumer champion for all our guests. To this end, we are now improving our air and ground services, including by changing our food concept, enhancing the meals offered on board our flights to all destinations.

"The improvement in our services, along with our modern fleet of aircraft, wide international network and robust connectivity, are great contributors to this recognition, which we are all proud of. Thank you, RJ guests, for your valuable, fair evaluation,” Pichler concluded.
