RJ’s dispatched plane to evacuate Jordanians residing in Wuhan arrives to Amman Saturday early morning

Amman, Jan. 31, 2020 – Upon His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives to dispatch a plane to evacuate Jordanians, Palestinians and Arabs residing in the Chinese city of Wuhan, a Royal Jordanian Boeing 787 aircraft departed from Wuhan Airport this Friday afternoon, Jan. 31, on a direct 11-and-a-half-hour flight to Amman.

The flight is scheduled to land at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) on Saturday February 1, at 02:15 local time, carrying 71 passengers, among whom Jordanian students. The move was taken in view of the recent spread of corona virus in China.

The Chinese medical authorities had carried out medical checks for the Jordanian nationals at Wuhan Airport before boarding the RJ aircraft. A Jordanian medical cadre are also onboard the flight.

Royal Jordanian, in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Health had arranged in the past couple of days with the Chinese authorities in Wuhan to get the approvals needed to send a special flight to bring to Jordan the above-mentioned groups of people, for their safety.
