How to Earn and Redeem Royal Club Miles: A Complete Guide

Royal Club miles come in two types. Award Miles can be redeemed for flights and rewards, while Tier Miles help you move up to a higher membership tier. You earn both types on every eligible flight.

 

Step 1: Join Royal Club (Free)

Sign up at HERE to receive your Royal Club number. All new members start at the Bronze Sunbird tier and get 1,000 welcome miles after their first eligible flight. If you register online before your first flight, you’ll also earn an extra 500 bonus miles.

 

Step 2: Earn Miles on Flights

The number of miles you earn per flight depends on the route distance, cabin class, fare type, and your membership tier. Crown Class fares earn more miles than Economy, while discounted Economy (Super Saver) fares earn fewer miles than full-fare Economy. Silver Jay, Gold Sparrow, and Platinum Hawk members get 25%, 50%, and 75% bonus miles on top of the base amount.

 

Step 3: Earn Miles Without Flying

  • Banking and credit cards: Many major Jordanian banks, such as Arab Bank, Jordan Kuwait Bank, and Capital Bank, let you earn Royal Club miles when you use eligible cards. Visit the Partners page for the latest offers and a complete list of participating banks.
  • Car rentals and selected retailers

 

Step 4: Redeem Miles for Award Flights

To book an award flight, log in to your Royal Club account and look for available award seats on Royal Jordanian flights. Award seats depend on the route and date. Crown Class award tickets need more miles than Economy awards. Use the Mileage Calculator on rj.com to see how many miles you need for each reward.

 

Step 5: Redeem Miles for Upgrades

  • You can request a Crown Class upgrade with your miles by emailing FFP@rj.com when you book your flight, or by calling the Royal Jordanian Contact Center up to 24 hours before departure. You can also ask for an upgrade at the airport check-in desk, if available.
  • Gold Sparrow members get one free upgrade voucher per year, valid for one flight sector.
  • Platinum Hawk members receive two free upgrades each year.
  • Royal Jordanian decides when upgrades are available, and they are not guaranteed on every flight. To improve your chances, try requesting an upgrade on less busy flights, like midweek departures or flights outside peak travel times.

 

How to Keep Your Miles Active

Your Award Miles stay active as long as you earn or redeem miles at least once every 18 months. Tier Miles last for 12 months if you are a Silver Jay or Gold Sparrow member, and 24 months if you are a Platinum Hawk. To keep your status, make sure you earn enough Tier Miles through qualifying activities before your card expires. Keep track of your activity so you do not miss the required Tier Miles.
