Fighting cancer, finding hope

The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) is an independent non-profit institution dedicated to combating cancer. Its medical arm, the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), is an internationally accredited cancer treatment center, which offers comprehensive cancer care to patients of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities, through all stages of cancer (from prevention, through treatment, to palliative care).

In its ongoing pursuit of excellence, KHCC received many international accreditations most importantly its accreditation as a disease specific cancer center from the Joint Commission International (JCI), which makes KHCC the first in the region and the sixth in the world to receive such accreditation.

KHCC treats all cancers and performs approximately 100 bone marrow transplants each year. The KHCC Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program is one of the largest and most successful programs in the Middle East, achieving cure rates compatible with international standards.

Unfortunately, the number of new cancer cases in Jordan is on the rise and expected to grow at a higher rate than population growth by 2020.

More and more families count on KHCC for top quality cancer care that they cannot find anywhere else in the region, the Center is currently being stretched to its limits and working at full capacity. In order to absorb the rising number of patients, KHCC is currently building a new expansion. This expansion will not only provide more life-saving space so that no patient is left behind, but will also accommodate ground breaking medical services.

The fight against cancer is one that requires the support and participation of the entire community, therefore, donations help save thousands of lives and give thousands more a chance for treatment, in addition to providing state-of-the-art cancer care at KHCC, educating the public about early detection and prevention of cancer, providing access to research and supporting underprivileged cancer patients financially and psychologically.
